EMILY BARNERD DESIGN

In collaboration with Allison Smith, I created this booklet with the intention of explaining the history and meaning behind the official national motto of Cuba, "Patria o Muerte."  This booklet was part of a series of books about Cuban history written and designed by my peers.  Every group was assigned a letter to include on the cover of their book so that when lined up next to each other, the book covers spelled out "Viva Cuba."  Some of the design elements include colors and motifs popular in Cuban design.  The star on the cover is a reference to the star on the Cuban flag.
